Última
Demo recording for voice & synth strings
This is my latest recording and, in a way, the one I'm most proud of, as it made me go back to a sense of playfulness and innocence in my writing. This piece manifests a simplicity that demanded a total absence of "academic shame" in its creation. It was the "emotional honesty" of composers like Arvo Pärt, that inspired a path for me. I would always go back to the music that evoked the sublime and the divine: Pärt, Górecki, and pieces such as "The Host of Seraphim" and "Sacrifice", helped me to trust what music meant to me. And it is to Lisa Gerrard that I dedicate this piece, as much of her work has given me strength and inspiration.
This piece was initially intended for a full string orchestra and soprano, or in the most optimistic of speculations; Lisa Gerrard's haunting voice. But I feared that the soprano singers in my reach, would fail to understand the emotional play of the piece, no matter how refined or trained their voices were. And as I had experience as a singer, I decided to interpret it myself, as this would result in the most intimate of versions. It was a challenge, and I consider the result to be quite close to the essence of the piece. I hope you enjoy it.

Demo recording. July 2007
Demo recording for oboe, bassoon, strings and percussion.
This piece, is structured into three parts with two interludes between. It is approximately 40 minutes long, and its answers to a dilemma that is proving to be a life long challenge: how to say as much as possible with the least elements possible ? Convinced that great things are not shouted but whispered, I pursuit this balance.
